Simon Bisley is a British illustrator and painter celebrated for his powerful, highly detailed imagery that transformed the look of modern fantasy and comic-book art. Rising to prominence in the late 1980s through his work on ABC Warriors and the acclaimed Sláine: The Horned God, Bisley introduced a dramatic painted style characterized by muscular figures, vivid color, and cinematic composition.

Internationally recognized for his influential depiction of the antihero Lobo for DC Comics, Bisley has also produced notable work featuring Batman, Judge Dredd, and other iconic characters. Drawing inspiration from fantasy painting, fine art, music culture, and graphic storytelling, his work bridges traditional painting and popular illustration. He remains one of the most distinctive voices in contemporary fantasy and comic art, renowned for bringing a monumental, painterly approach to  illustrated narrative.
